Our Mission
Mindera Code Academy approaches technical education from the perspective of people involved in highly technical, agile organizations. Our purpose is to create accessible training that is tightly aligned with industry needs and agile methodology.
Educational Objectives
- Listening is important, but not as important as doing.
- Learning happens when students are proactively doing.
- There is more to engineering than code, although understanding code is important in all parts of the profession. Students learn best when they are engaged in active learning across all three parts of the mind. To do this we utilize Universal Design Theory and CAST UDL guidelines when designing courses and assignments.
- Start with small successes and use those to leverage excitement toward larger successes.
- Faculty must approach students with empathy for their learning process.
- There aren’t “tests” in real world jobs, there are outcomes.
